Arizona State University Student Stabbed in Random Classroom Attack

A student at Arizona State University was reportedly stabbed twice in a classroom in Glendale on Sept. 19 in what appears to be an unprovoked attack.

Authorities in Maricopa County have charged 19-year-old Kaci Lenise-Charlie Sloan with first-degree attempted murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and disorderly conduct with a weapon in connection with the incident involving fellow student Mara Daffron.

Daffron’s neighbors have set up a GoFundMe page for her recovery, noting that she was “stabbed several times,” but fortunately, she is showing significant improvement.

“We’d like our community to come together and support the Daffron family during this difficult time. These funds will go towards anything the family may need,” the GoFundMe page read. “We know Mara will come out stronger than ever from this unimaginable attack.”

Around 13 witnesses, including a professor, provided statements to police, who noted in a probable cause affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital that the stabbing occurred “without any provocation or words spoken.”

According to the report, one witness managed to disarm Sloan by removing the knife from her hand, and another witness kicked the weapon to the back of the classroom.
