Anheuser-Busch Accused of Racist Hiring Practices Amid Transgender Campaign

Anheuser-Busch is being accused of discriminatory rights practices related to a program centered on providing opportunities to minorities and women.

QUICK FACTS:
  • Brewing company Anheuser-Busch, the parent company of Bud Light, has been accused of “illegal, racist, and sexist hiring practices” in a federal civil rights complaint.
  • America First Legal Group filed the complaint against the brewing company with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, saying Anheuser-Busch was discriminatory under the “cloak of equity.”
  • “This is not a regular corporate program – rather, the company describes the role as focusing on hiring the next generation of leaders within the North American Sustainability and Procurement department,” the group said. “In other words, it is a fast-track program to executive leadership positions at Anheuser-Busch, and it is limited to candidates based on race. The proforma Equal Opportunity Employer language at the end of the posting does mask the company’s discriminatory intent and purpose.”
  • Also in the complaint, the group called for an investigation into the brewing giant.
  • “The evidence is that Anheuser-Busch is knowingly, intentionally, and unlawfully discriminating based on race, color, national origin, and sex with respect to employment and job training opportunities,” America First wrote.
AMERICA FIRST LEGAL GROUP ON ANHEUSER-BUSCH’S RACIST PRACTICES:

“As the corporation responsible for Bud Light, and as an eager and willing partner with and funder of “transgender activist” and biological male Dylan Mulvaney, it is safe to assume that the company’s definition of a woman is not limited to biological females,” the group said.

BACKGROUND:
  • Last week, Bud Light’s Vice-President of Marketing Alissa Heinerscheid announced she was taking a leave of absence just weeks after the company was criticized for its partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
  • According to Ad Age, Todd Allen, the vice president of global marketing for Budweiser, will replace Alissa Heinerscheid in her marketing roll for the brand.
  • A spokesperson for the brewing company said that getting new leadership will help Bud Light “maintain focus on the things we do best: brewing great beer for all consumers, while always making a positive impact in our communities and on our country.”
