American Citizens Warned to Leave Lebanon

The State Department issued a travel advisory encouraging Americans to leave Lebanon.

“The@StateDept recommends that U.S. citizens in Lebanon leave now while commercial flights remain available due to the unpredictable security situation,” the State Department tweeted, providing a link to flight options.

Lebanon has been given a Level 4 travel advisory.

“Do Not travel to Lebanon due to the unpredictable security situation related to rocket, missile, and artillery exchanges between Israel and Hizballah or other armed militant factions,” the travel advisory states. “Reconsider travel to Lebanon due to terrorism, civil unrest, armed conflict, crime, kidnapping, and Embassy Beirut’s limited capacity to provide support to U.S. citizens.”

The travel advisory comes amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

The advisory also follows Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah calling the United States the “Great Satan.”

“America is what is preventing the condemnation of Israel and the security council. America is the one preventing a ceasefire here in Gaza,” Nasrallah said. “America is the one who is preventing the aggression from stopping in Gaza. And America, once again, as [Former Iran Supreme Leader Ayatollah] Khomeini said, America is proving itself once again as the Great Satan.”

“It is the primary responsible party for all massacres previously from today from Hiroshima to Vietnam, to Afghanistan, to Iraq, Palestine, the whole region, and it must be held accountable for its crimes and massacres, and it must be punished for what it’s doing against the people of our region.”
