Amazon, Facebook Spent More Money Lobbying Politicians in 2021 Than Any Previous Year

Amazon and Meta (Facebook) spent record totals on lobbying last year, according to lobbying disclosure filings.

Amazon spent $20.3 million in 2021, up from $18.9 million on lobbying in 2020. Meta, previously Facebook, spent $20.1 million in 2021, up from its previously record-breaking total of $19.7 million on lobbying in 2020.

Other Big Tech companies’ spending on lobbying in 2021:

  • Google/Alphabet – $11.5 million
  • Microsoft – $10.3 million
  • Apple – $6.5 million

“Amazon, Meta, Apple, Google and Microsoft all lobbied on each antitrust bill, as well as on issues related to immigrationtrade and technological innovation,” the Daily Caller reports.
