Attorney General Pam Bondi announced today that all federal charges against Dr. Michael Kirk Moore Jr., a Utah plastic surgeon accused of destroying over $28,000 in COVID-19 vaccines and issuing fraudulent vaccine records, have been dismissed. Moore faced up to 35 years in prison on allegations of conspiracy, fraud, and mishandling government property.
Bondi took action at the start of Moore’s trial in Salt Lake City, stating in a social media post that “Dr. Moore gave his patients a choice when the federal government refused to do so” and that he did not deserve the potential prison sentence The dismissal also extends to co-defendant Kristin Jackson Andersen. Two other individuals involved earlier pleaded guilty and were not part of today’s decision.
The case, originally brought in January 2023 during the Biden administration, alleged that Moore and his clinic destroyed government-provided vaccines, provided saline injections to children instead of vaccines, and created roughly 1,900 fake vaccination cards.
Republican lawmakers, including Sen. Mike Lee and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, advocated publicly for Moore’s defense. Greene praised Bondi’s decision, calling Moore “a hero” and saying his case exemplified resistance to government overreach. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. also commended Moore, describing him as courageous.
Moore’s legal team expressed relief, stating the dismissal confirms the evidence showed no criminal activity, emphasizing that no unexpired vaccines were destroyed and no profit was gained. A judge must still approve the dismissal motion.
This move reaffirms Bondi’s stance against what she calls the “weaponization of government” through policy enforcement.
