Activists disrupt ICE operations in California

An anti-ICE activist coalition based in Los Angeles has been training groups across the country on how to interfere with federal immigration enforcement. The Community Self-Defense Coalition, a network of over 50 left-wing organizations, has been patrolling neighborhoods, alerting illegal immigrants about ICE activity, and actively disrupting enforcement operations.

On Sunday, activists successfully disrupted two ICE operations in California—one in San Fernando and another in Alhambra. According to an ICE spokesperson, agents were attempting to arrest illegal immigrants with criminal records when the group intervened.

Ron Gochez, a lead organizer with Union Del Barrio and an educator with the Los Angeles Unified School District, said more than 100 activists mobilized in the early morning hours to prevent ICE arrests. He claimed their efforts have been effective, explaining that the coalition conducts daily patrols at 5:30 a.m. to spot ICE agents and alert communities using megaphones.

Video footage shared on social media showed activists confronting ICE agents outside a home in Alhambra, instructing illegal immigrants on how to evade arrest. The coalition later bragged that no illegal immigrants were taken into custody, referring to ICE detentions as “kidnappings.” The group also publicly shared photos of undercover ICE agents, their vehicles, and license plate numbers.

Gochez revealed that the coalition has been training activists in Chicago, Denver, and Salt Lake City, and recently helped disrupt an ICE operation in Colorado targeting foreign terrorist gang members. He hopes the group’s model will expand to more sanctuary cities.

Border Czar Tom Homan has warned that anyone interfering with ICE operations could face prosecution. ICE has not yet confirmed whether any arrests were made on Sunday.
