Faith is a word that most people understand on some level. It finds its highest and best meaning when applied to the God of the Bible. Apart from an object, faith has no meaning. It is so much more than an attitude or a feeling. It is faith that moves the hand of God. When we speak about American Faith in our articles and videos, we refer to those beliefs that framed our nation's founding documents. What faith did the Founding Fathers embrace? The majority of fifty-five members of the Constitutional Convention were Christians; three were Deists and one unknown in his faith expression. The Founding Fathers' goal was to establish a just society where no one religion would become the newly formed nation's religion. The aim was that the state would not interfere with religion. The First Amendment is evident on this matter, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." Biblical faith is action-oriented. It is never content to wait, but rather to act and act boldly. When God moves, that person will settle for nothing less than seeing God provide according to His promises. This understanding is necessary for the achievement of every great thing. The Bible is replete with examples of men and women who were willing to risk everything on God's promises. Bold faith is the essence of what it means to follow Christ. Faith, according to the Book of Hebrews, brings a reward. Faith is so essential to the Christian life that we read that, "…without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." (Hebrews 11:6). American Faith is dedicated to upholding the Judeo-Christian faith and the Constitution of the United States.
