The State Department announced that it has implemented new sanctions on several transnational far-left terror networks. One entity in particular, the Autistici/Inventati (A/I Collective), is based in Italy and supplies the “digital infrastructure for Antifa cells and other radical left-wing networks in the United States, Europe, and elsewhere across the world,” State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott said in a statement.
Other groups targeted by the action include Palestine Action and Masar Badil.
“Violent far-left terrorist networks, such those targeted today, pose a threat to the United States and our foreign partners,” Pigott added. “There will be no refuge for violent extremists who wage war on our civilization and plot to undermine law and order, destroy critical infrastructure, assault political opponents, or conceal their crimes from authorities. We will use all the tools and authorities at our disposal to fight terrorism and protect our way of life.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio drew attention to far-left political terrorism during last month’s Ministerial on the Resurgence of Political Terrorism. Rubio said during the event that radical left terrorism has “always been driven by a hatred — above all else, a hatred for civilization itself.”
He described the activity as a “revolt of the worst against the best, a revolt of the weak and the cowardly against the strong and the good.”
“It is perpetrated by those who cannot build, who cannot create, who cannot create great things, and take revenge upon the world for their own inadequacy by seeking to destroy those who can,” Rubio said. “This is what radical leftism is.”
