A security clearance was given to Bill Gates to access Department of Energy information, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) revealed. The “Q security clearance” was granted from 2014 to 2021, a period overlapping with Dr. Anthony Fauci’s serving as Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
According to the National Security Law Firm, a Q clearance “typically applies to positions involving nuclear weapons design, national laboratories, critical energy infrastructure, and classified scientific research.”
Paul’s document drop on the matter states that Fauci “served as Bill Gates’s private editor, with the help of David Morens.” The files explain that Gates requested Fauci’s feedback on an April 2020 memo relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prior to the pandemic, then-NIH Director Francis Collins emailed Fauci and other senior staff, asking what Gates’ ties to the agency were. An internal NIH review found that the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation had never applied for an NIH grant, but had funded various areas of the NIH. Collins later raised questions upon being part of an Oval Office meeting, where he reported that “Gates had been promoting a universal flu vaccine directly to the President,” the documents say.
“Is this coordinated in some way, or is Bill going rogue?” Collins asked.
A separate correspondence between Collins and Fauci, dated to 2018, revealed that Gates suggested to the president that $5-6 billion was “really needed to prepare for a worldwide flu pandemic.” Collins noted that he was “not sure where that number comes from.”
The documents later reveal that DARPA briefed the Gates Foundation on military biological threat programs in 2022. This ninety-minute briefing covered various programs, one of which was explained as “targeting viruses in animals before they emerge in
humans.” One of the program’s projects involved a transmissible vaccine “with internal off switch” for potential deployment across West African countries.
Paul condemned Gates in 2023 as being the singular “largest funder” of virus discovery. He told Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo that Gates “funds the WHO more than most countries do.”
