Iran Stops Execution of Women After Trump’s Involvement

President Trump announced that Iran agreed to free female protesters who were set to be killed.

“Very good news! I have just been informed that the eight women protestors who were going to be executed tonight in Iran will no longer be killed. Four will be released immediately, and four will be sentenced to one month in prison,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I very much appreciate that Iran, and its leaders, respected my request, as President of the United States, and terminated the planned execution. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

The update follows President Trump’s urging of Iranian leaders to free the women, using the matter as a means to launch another round of negotiations.

“To the Iranian leaders, who will soon be in negotiations with my representatives: I would greatly appreciate the release of these women,” he wrote. “Do them no harm. It would be a great start to our negotiations.”

The appeal came amid reports that Iran’s regime has already executed thousands of dissidents during its ongoing internal crackdown on political opposition and protests.

Trump’s urge came in response to a post from pro-Israel activist Eyal Yakoby, who condemned that there was “not a word from the international community or so-called human rights organizations.”

Iran denied that the women were ever set for execution, with officials claiming that “Trump was misled once again by fake news” and that “some of them have been released, while others face charges that, if convictions are upheld, would at most result in imprisonment.”
