Trump Predicts Another Supreme Court Blow

President Trump predicted that the Supreme Court will deliver another blow to his agenda regarding birthright citizenship.

Condemning the “incompetent supreme court,” on Truth Social, which he said “did a great job for the wrong people, and for that they should be ashamed of themselves,” President Trump warned, “The next thing you know they will rule in favor of China and others, who are making an absolute fortune on Birthright Citizenship, by saying the 14th Amendment was NOT written to take care of the ‘babies of slaves,’ which it was as proven by the EXACT TIMING of its construction, filing, and ratification, which perfectly coincided with the END OF THE CIVIL WAR.”

“But this supreme court will find a way to come to the wrong conclusion, one that again will make China, and various other Nations, happy and rich,” President Trump added. “Let our supreme court keep making decisions that are so bad and deleterious to the future of our Nation – I have a job to do.”

The Trump administration urged the Supreme Court to take up the case in September, arguing that the clause was “adopted to confer citizenship on the newly freed slaves and their children, not on the children of aliens temporarily visiting the United States or of illegal aliens.” According to Trump lawyers, President Trump’s order ending the practice “restores the original meaning of the Citizenship Clause and provides, on a prospective basis only, that children of temporary visitors and illegal aliens are not U.S. citizens by birth.”

President Trump’s criticism of the Supreme Court follows the Court’s 6-3 decision to reject most of his tariffs. “We claim no special competence in matters of economics or foreign affairs,” Chief Justice John Roberts wrote for the Court. “We claim only, as we must, the limited role assigned to us by Article III of the Constitution. Fulfilling that role, we hold that IEEPA does not authorize the President to impose tariffs.”
