New documents reveal that the Biden-era Justice Department seized House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan’s (R-OH) phone data.
The Biden administration obtained a grand jury subpoena dated April 2022, without Jordan’s knowledge, for records dating back to 2022. The materials requested included “inbound and outbound calls, text messages, direct-connect communications, voicemail messages, addresses, as well as sources of payments, IP addresses, and location information,” the House Judiciary Committee explained.
A nondisclosure agreement accompanied the subpoena, which stated that informing Jordan of the matter could “result in flight from prosecution, destruction of or tampering with evidence, intimidation of potential witnesses, and serious jeopardy to the investigation.”
“They spied on President Trump. They spied on Senators,” Jordan said in a statement on X. “Now, we just learned, they spied on me. If they can do it to us, they can do it to you.”
Last month, the House Judiciary Committee revealed that the Biden-era Department of Justice targeted more than 150 Republicans for investigation as part of the Arctic Frost probe.
Similarly, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) recently made public nearly 200 subpoenas issued by Smith and his team as part of their case against President Trump. The 197 subpoenas, obtained by Grassley through whistleblower disclosures, were sent to 34 individuals and 163 businesses. The records also named at least 430 Republican individuals and entities.
“Arctic Frost was the vehicle by which partisan FBI agents and DOJ prosecutors could improperly investigate the entire Republican political apparatus,” Grassley said during a press conference. “Contrary to what Smith has said publicly, this was clearly a fishing expedition.”
