Democrat Seeks 5th Trump Impeachment Effort

Rep. Al Green (D-TX) has launched another impeachment effort against President Trump.

“We cannot allow anything to get in the way of impeachment, conviction, and removal. That’s what this is about,” Green told reporters. “Impeachment, conviction, and removal.”

“It’s not enough to file them and not have a vote on them,” Green said, as per The Hill. “We will bring those articles of impeachment to the floor as a privileged resolution. And there will be a vote on them. And then let the chips fall where they may.”

Green first sought to impeach President Trump in 2017. He then sought to impeach him twice in 2019, followed by another attempt earlier this year.

In February, Green announced he planned to introduce articles of impeachment for President Trump’s Gaza proposal. “Ethnic cleansing in Gaza is not a joke,” Green said at the time, adding that “ethnic cleansing has been a crime against humanity.”

“Injustice in Gaza is a threat to justice in the United States of America,” he said. “I rise to announce that the movement to impeach the president has begun. I rise to announce that I will bring Articles of Impeachment against the president for dastardly deeds proposed and dastardly deeds done.”

In March, the House of Representatives voted to censure Green after he disrupted President Donald Trump’s address to Congress. Upon disrupting the address, House Speaker Mike Johnson stated, “Members are engaging in willful and continuing breach of the quorum, and the chair is prepared to direct the sergeant at arms to restore order to the joint session. Mr. Green, take your seat. Take your seat, sir. Take your seat.”
