Turning Point USA received over 32,000 requests to launch new student chapters in the 48 hours following the assassination of its founder, Charlie Kirk. The surge represents a massive groundswell of support among young conservatives determined to carry forward Kirk’s mission on high school and college campuses nationwide.
The organization currently maintains approximately 900 chapters on college campuses and 1,200 chapters in high schools. In total, TPUSA operates about 3,500 chapters across the country. The unexpected wave of interest signals a rapid acceleration in growth for the conservative student movement.
Andrew Kolvet, executive producer of The Charlie Kirk Show, described the outpouring as unprecedented. He noted that “Club America,” TPUSA’s high school-based initiative, had already been expanding but may now reach national saturation far sooner than anticipated. Kirk had championed the idea that conservative values must be instilled at the youngest levels of education.
TPUSA, founded in 2012, has become the leading student organization advocating for free markets, limited government, and constitutional values. Its activism includes speaker events, chapter-led outreach, and digital media initiatives designed to challenge progressive dominance on campuses.
Kirk’s murder sent shockwaves through the conservative movement, but it also appears to have reignited youth enthusiasm for his cause. The group is now preparing to handle the administrative challenge of vetting, launching, and supporting thousands of new chapters. Staff have reported working overtime to process applications and respond to inquiries from students, parents, and teachers eager to get involved.
