Fox News star Greg Gutfeld made late-night history last week, with his first appearance on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon delivering the show’s largest audience of 2025. The ratings spike for Greg Gutfeld brought in 1.7 million viewers, a 57% jump from the show’s 2025 average of 1.1 million, according to Nielsen Media Research.
The crossover moment between the king of cable late-night and Fallon took place in Studio 6B, just steps from Fox News’ New York headquarters. Gutfeld’s interview also drew 294,000 viewers in the coveted 25-54 demographic, a 13% increase for the program. The YouTube clip quickly became the show’s most-watched interview in nearly a month, nearing 1 million views by Tuesday.
Gutfeld and Fallon reminisced about their first meeting nearly 15 years ago at what Gutfeld described as an “illegal speakeasy” in Hell’s Kitchen. “Yes, you have no memory of it,” Gutfeld teased Fallon. “Which is understandable, because we were wasted.” The night included Fallon tackling Gutfeld, warning him about smoking, and later buying him a pack of cigarettes. “It was all very good-natured, and it was a great memory,” Gutfeld said.
While Gutfeld was making waves on NBC, his own Fox News program, Gutfeld!, continued its dominance. Guest-hosted by Kat Timpf that night, it still led all late-night programming with 2.7 million viewers. Fox News Channel’s Gutfeld! remains the most-watched late-night program in America, regularly outperforming NBC, CBS, and ABC rivals.
