Abrams Sparks Fury With Recent Comments on Christianity and Leftist Politics

Failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams raised eyebrows with recently stated views linking her faith to left‑wing politics, signaling she may again seek power in the Peach State. In a Tuesday NPR interview, Abrams refused to rule out a third run, declaring, “I truly have not made any decisions and that is in part because there’s an urgency to 2025 that we cannot ignore.”

Abrams, who lost to Gov. Brian Kemp in both 2018 and 2022, claimed her Christian faith compels her to adopt progressive stances. “I cannot call myself a Christian and not believe that it is my responsibility to help the stranger, to help immigrants, to help the dispossessed,” she said. She went on to highlight her defense of transgender ideology and LGBTQIA causes as well.

Abrams also blasted President Donald Trump for sending troops to stop violent riots in Los Angeles, calling the move “a violation of every precept of democratic rule under a civilian leader that we have in this country.” Those riots erupted after ICE enforcement actions that led to flag burnings and assaults on law enforcement.

She condemned Trump’s executive order “Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity,” which rolled back DEI policies.

“But no, he was intentionally setting up a system of belief that the protection of the vulnerable, that the corrective actions this nation has taken for 249 years, that those things were somehow inherently wrong.” Abrams said. Her recently stated views suggest a platform that would continue to challenge traditional values in Georgia politics.
