Jihadists Shut Down Texas Pro-Israel Summit

A major pro-Israel summit scheduled for June 9–11 in the Dallas area has been indefinitely postponed after credible threats from American-based jihadist groups rendered the event unsafe. Organizers of the Israel Summit, which had sold over 1,000 tickets and featured high-profile speakers, cited escalating security concerns and mounting external pressure as reasons for the cancellation.

The summit, organized by HaYovel and The Israel Guys, was initially planned for the Arlington Expo Center. However, local authorities elevated the event to a “high-threat” status, necessitating a mandatory security plan with costs estimated in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Unable to meet these requirements, organizers secured a second venue at Eagle Mountain International Church near Newark, Texas. Despite enhanced security measures, including coordination with local law enforcement and private security, the new venue also withdrew due to safety concerns following direct and indirect threats from pro-Hamas jihadist groups.

The threats were not isolated incidents. Recent attacks, such as the murder of two Israeli embassy staffers in Washington, D.C., and a firebombing in Boulder, Colorado, have heightened fears of violence at pro-Israel events. Organizers expressed shock that such threats could disrupt a peaceful gathering in Texas, emphasizing the growing challenges of hosting pro-Israel events in the United States.

Former U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, who was scheduled to speak at the summit, condemned the cancellation, stating, “This is America in 2025. A pro-Israel conference scheduled for Dallas this week… was forced to cancel because of threats from violent Jihadists.”

Despite the setback, organizers remain resolute. They plan to reschedule the summit, aiming to make it “bigger and bolder than ever,” and continue to stand in solidarity with Israel.
