Biden’s Strange Comments Raise More Concern Over Mental Competence

Former President Joe Biden reignited concerns over his mental competence during a public event in Delaware on Friday, where he made a controversial statement about CNN anchor Jake Tapper and journalist Alex Thompson. Responding to a question about his cognitive and physical capabilities, Biden said, “You can see that I’m mentally incompetent and I can’t walk, and I can beat the hell out of both of them,” referencing the authors of a book detailing his cognitive decline.

The book, co-authored by Tapper and Thompson, alleges a cover-up of Biden’s declining health during his presidency. Despite the revelations, Tapper has faced criticism for previously downplaying concerns about Biden’s mental fitness.

When asked about Democratic critics questioning his decision to run for reelection, Biden retorted, “Why didn’t they run against me then? Because I’d have beaten them.” He added, “No, I don’t have any regrets.”

Biden also addressed his recent cancer diagnosis, stating, “The prognosis is good. And, you know, we’re working on everything.” He detailed his treatment plan, mentioning a specific pill regimen over the next six weeks.

The former president’s remarks have intensified scrutiny over his mental competence, especially in light of the book’s claims and his recent health issues.
