Illegal Immigrant Teen Who Killed Colorado Woman, ICE

The 16-year-old illegal immigrant teen who killed 24-year-old Kaitlyn Weaver in a reckless high-speed crash has been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after avoiding jail time through a controversial plea deal. ICE officials confirmed Thursday that the teen, a citizen of Colombia, was taken into custody on May 20 and will remain detained pending an immigration hearing.

ICE also arrested the teen’s family members, who are also in the U.S. illegally. ICE Denver stated, “For the [18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office] justice is no jail time and probation for this criminal alien who killed a young woman while driving more than 90 mph. For ICE, justice is arrest and removal.”

Weaver was killed in July 2024 when the teen—unlicensed, driving an uninsured vehicle, and racing other minors—slammed into her car at 90 mph as she sat at a stop sign in Aurora, Colorado. Weaver was on speakerphone with her boyfriend at the time and was later removed from life support, her family donating her organs.

Despite the deadly crash, the teen only received probation and community service, sparking outrage over what many see as a failure of the justice system. ICE’s intervention underscores the agency’s commitment to arresting and removing illegal aliens who commit serious crimes. An ICE spokesperson said, “All aliens in violation of US immigration law may be subject to arrest, detention, and, if found removable by final order, removal from the United States, regardless of nationality.”

The case has reignited calls for stricter enforcement of immigration laws and greater accountability for crimes committed by illegal immigrants. Weaver’s death remains a tragic example of the human cost of unchecked illegal immigration and lenient criminal sentencing.
