TikTok Chaos: 300 Teens Storm NJ Carnival, Mall in Social Media-Fueled Mayhem

A TikTok-promoted gathering spiraled into chaos Saturday night as approximately 300 teens stormed the Woodbridge Center Carnival in New Jersey, overwhelming security and prompting a shutdown of the event. Despite the carnival’s policy requiring minors to be accompanied by an adult and valid ID checks, the crowd became so unruly that Woodbridge Police had to request reinforcements from neighboring departments. The disorder spilled over into the nearby Woodbridge Center Mall, forcing stores to close early and shelter customers inside.

The incident mirrors a similar disturbance at Menlo Park Mall in Edison the previous weekend, where a TikTok “linkup” led to a massive brawl involving over 300 teens. That event resulted in seven minors being arrested and one police officer suffering a fractured ankle.

In response to the ongoing disturbances, Edison Mayor Sam Joshi has advocated for increased mall security and potential curfews, stressing parental responsibility. He stated, “Parents need to be focused on their kids, making sure they are not causing this type of rowdiness in other towns.”

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the latest incident. No arrests or injuries have been confirmed yet.
