Harris Interview Nominated for an Emmy

The “60 Minutes” interview at the center of President Donald Trump’s lawsuit against CBS News has received an Emmy nomination.

The interview is nominated in the “Outstanding Edited Interview” category.

President Trump sued CBS News in October, alleging that CBS deceptively edited Harris’ response to a question about Gaza, presenting her more favorably.

In the interview, Harris was questioned about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s actions during the Israel-Gaza conflict. The unedited transcript reveals that Harris’s original 179-word response was significantly condensed to just 20 words in what was broadcast.

Harris told Bill Whitaker in a clip of the discussion, “The work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by or a result of many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region.”

When the interview aired, however, audiences noticed that Harris’ answer had been edited to: “We are not going to stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end.”

White House Communications Director Steven Cheung told Fox News of the Emmy nomination, “Of course it’s nominated for best editing because it takes some serious talent to edit Kamala’s answer into something that’s coherent and understandable, which in the end they still failed to do.”

Trump wrote on Truth Social this week that the case against “60 Minutes” is a “true WINNER.”

“They cheated and defrauded the American People at levels never seen before in the Political Arena. Kamala Harris, during Early Voting and, immediately before Election Day, was asked a question, and gave an answer, that was so bad and incompetent that it would have cost her many of the Votes that she ended up getting,” he wrote.
