Trump Shuts Down Rumors: No Third Term ‘Loopholes’ Planned

President Donald Trump clarified during an interview that he does not believe in using legal loopholes to seek a third term in office. Speaking with Time Magazine, President Trump responded firmly when asked about speculation regarding an unconventional path to extend his presidency beyond the constitutionally permitted two terms.

Pressed about previous comments hinting at possible methods, Trump stated, “I don’t believe in loopholes. I don’t believe in using loopholes.” He emphasized that although such ideas are discussed among supporters, he does not intend to pursue them.

The interview also broached rumors that Trump might serve as vice president under an ally such as J.D. Vance to maneuver around term limits. Trump dismissed the notion, pivoting instead to highlight his cognitive test success, boasting he “aced it 100%,” and challenging reporters to match his results.

Right-wing commentator Steve Bannon has publicly advocated for exploring options to keep President Trump in office beyond a second term. Bannon has suggested multiple “alternatives,” without offering specifics. Legal experts widely agree that the 22nd Amendment restricts any individual from serving more than two terms as president.

President Trump, inaugurated for a second non-consecutive term in January 2025, remains highly popular among conservative voters. At the end of his term, Trump will be 82 years old. Despite third-term speculation, Trump’s public remarks affirm his commitment to constitutional limits.
