Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, escalated her feud with President Donald Trump during a Tuesday night appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, declaring she would “absolutely” take a public IQ test head-to-head against the 45th president. The Jasmine Crockett Trump IQ response came after Kimmel played a clip of Trump calling her the Democrats’ “new star” and mocking her during an April Republican fundraiser.
“If that’s their new star, they’re in serious trouble,” Trump said, referring to Crockett. “They’ve taken a lot of beatings and now they’re going to rely on Crockett to bring them back.”
Crockett dismissed the jab, telling Kimmel, “It says a lot when you’re supposed to be the leader of the free world, and you’re worried about a sophomore in the House.”
The Texas Democrat also compared Trump unfavorably to Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an illegal immigrant deported to a high-security prison in El Salvador. Crockett said Garcia was “a lot less criminal” than Trump, referencing Trump’s legal battles despite no criminal convictions. She claimed the charges against Garcia had been exaggerated and reversed her previous stance, portraying him as less threatening than the former president.
Crockett’s appearance on the late-night talk show continued her pattern of public attacks against Trump. Earlier this month, she called Trump a “buffoon” on social media, following his remarks at the National Republican Congressional Committee dinner.
The back-and-forth highlights ongoing tensions as Trump remains a dominant figure in American politics. Crockett, a freshman congresswoman, has quickly aligned herself with the Democratic Party’s progressive wing, often using inflammatory rhetoric to draw attention and rally the base.
