The Trump administration changed a Biden-era website to discuss the “true origins” of the COVID-19 virus. The website previously included information on how to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
“This administration prioritizes transparency over all else,” a senior administration official told Fox News. “The American people deserve to know the truth about the COVID pandemic, and we will always find ways to reach communities with that message.”
The website lists five key details pointing to a lab leak as the virus’ origin, including that the virus “possesses a biological characteristic that is not found in nature.”
“Data shows that all COVID-19 cases stem from a single introduction into humans. This runs contrary to previous pandemics where there were multiple spillover events,” the website continues, going on to note that Wuhan is “home to China’s foremost SARS research lab, which has a history of conducting gain-of-function research (gene altering and organism supercharging) at inadequate biosafety levels.”
Researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology were also “sick with COVID-like symptoms in the fall of 2019, months before COVID-19 was discovered at the wet market,” the site explains.
“By nearly all measures of science, if there was evidence of a natural origin it would have already surfaced. But it hasn’t,” it declares.
The website goes on to describe the failures and obstructions of the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Health and Human Services, and EcoHealth Alliance. It further condemns former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci and his senior advisor, Dr. David Morens.
“Public health officials often mislead the American people through conflicting messaging, knee-jerk reactions, and a lack of transparency,” the website states. “Most egregiously, the federal government demonized alternative treatments and disfavored narratives, such as the lab leak theory, in a shameful effort to coerce and control the American people’s health decisions.”
