NYPD Investigating Hate Crime After Swastika-Tagged Brick Left on Tesla

The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is actively investigating a disturbing incident in Brooklyn after a woman allegedly left a brick marked with a swastika on a man’s Tesla Cybertruck in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood.

According to a statement from the NYPD, the act of vandalism occurred just before 5 p.m. Monday near 617 Ditmas Avenue in the 66th Precinct. A 38-year-old man had parked his Tesla Cybertruck when an unidentified white woman with long blonde hair reportedly placed a brick—marked with the hateful Nazi symbol—on top of the vehicle.

Authorities have classified the incident as a “hate crime criminal mischief” case, and they are working to identify and locate the suspect that left the swastika. The blatant anti-Semitic imagery has raised concerns among local residents and leaders, especially as such attacks have been on the rise in various U.S. cities.

The FBI has formed a task force to investigate a wave of attacks targeting Tesla vehicles and dealerships, with FBI Director Kash Patel calling these actions “domestic terrorism.”

“The FBI has been investigating the increase in violent activity toward Tesla, and over the last few days, we have taken additional steps to crack down and coordinate our response,” Patel wrote on X. “This is domestic terrorism. Those responsible will be pursued, caught, and brought to justice.”

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) is also involved in the probe, working alongside federal agents to combat the rising number of attacks.

The task force’s formation follows a Monday morning incident at a Tesla showroom in Austin, Texas, where multiple incendiary devices were discovered. Authorities quickly removed the devices, and the FBI is now leading the investigation.
