U.S. Bank Executive Terry Dolan Believed to Be Victim in Minnesota Plane Crash

A small business aircraft crashed into a home in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, on Saturday afternoon, killing the pilot believed to be U.S. Bank executive Terry Dolan.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the SOCATA TBM7 aircraft departed from Des Moines International Airport and was en route to Anoka County-Blaine Airport when it crashed near 109th Avenue North and Noble Parkway around 12:20 p.m. The plane is registered to Dolan, and while authorities have yet to confirm his identity, U.S. Bank officials say he was likely the sole occupant on board.

Fortunately, the resident of the home managed to escape unscathed. Federal investigators are now working to determine the cause of the crash.

Dolan, 63, had been with U.S. Bank since 1998, serving in key leadership roles, including as chief financial officer and head of wealth management and investment services. Most recently, he was the company’s vice chair and chief administration officer, overseeing corporate strategy, marketing, and analytics.

“We are aware that the plane that crashed in Brooklyn Park on Saturday afternoon was registered to Terry Dolan, our vice chair and chief administration officer. At this time, the medical examiner’s office has not been able to confirm whether he was on board, but we believe he was. Our thoughts and prayers are with him, his family and friends, and anyone who may have been affected by yesterday’s tragic incident,” the bank said in a statement.

“We are grateful that there were not any injuries to residents of the home that was impacted by the crash, and we thank all the first responders who have provided service.”

Beyond his corporate career, Dolan was an active philanthropist, serving on the boards of Catholic Charities, the Minnesota Opera, Artspace, and The Minneapolis Foundation. He was also involved with the Killebrew Thompson Memorial, a charity supporting cancer research.
