Ellen Pompeo Trump Felon Claim Sparks Controversy

ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo made a controversial claim on The View, suggesting that under President Donald Trump’s administration, “old, white men” are “the only ones who are allowed to be felons.” Her remarks came during a discussion about judgment and empathy in society.

“We all should ask ourselves, why do we look at something and at face value make a judgment about it? I think we do that as human beings, and I think we all need a lot more empathy right now,” Pompeo said to the co-hosts. She then added, “I mean, why are old, white men the only ones who are allowed to be felons? No one else can stay in this country if they are a felon.” Her comments were met with laughter and agreement from the audience and the show’s hosts.

Pompeo’s statement appeared to conflate legal issues involving Trump with deportations of illegal alien felons, making an unusual comparison between political prosecutions and immigration enforcement. Notably, her remarks come amid President Trump’s continued efforts to deport criminal illegal aliens as part of his administration’s border security policies.

The Trump administration recently invoked the 1798 Alien Enemies Act, expediting the removal of Venezuelan migrants suspected of being members of the Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang. Despite a federal judge’s attempt to block these deportations, Trump’s immigration policies remain a key priority, fulfilling a central campaign promise.

Trump, who won a decisive re-election, campaigned on securing the border and addressing the country’s illegal immigration crisis. His administration has focused on enforcing laws to remove criminal aliens while also addressing what many conservatives view as politically motivated prosecutions against him.
