President Trump issued a warning to Oman, threatening to bomb it if it interferes with the United States’ efforts to hold a blockade on Iran.
Speaking in a phone interview with Fox News, Trump declared, “If Oman gets in the way, we’ll bomb the [expletive] out of them.” The warning comes as a 60-day ceasefire deadline is expiring.
On Iran, the president said, “They should put up the white flag of surrender.”
“I have no time schedule,” Trump added. “I’m not in a hurry.”
Similarly, Trump wrote on Truth Social on the matter: “The number one Goal is, and always will be, that Iran cannot have, in any way, shape, or form, a Nuclear Weapon. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent recently told Newsmax that the Trump administration is set to announce new measures against Iran that have not been seen before. “At the president’s orders, we have raised the level even again, and watch this space for more announcements coming next week because we are going to apply measures like have never been seen in the history of the economic isolation of a country.”
“It will be a combination of economic isolation like the world has never seen before, and the continued blockade in the Strait of Hormuz that will keep anything from going in or out of the Iranian ports,” he explained.
President Trump has also teased a forthcoming economic avenue with which to pressure Iran to end the conflict.
“We could just keep it alone, and they’re going to fail. We could just keep, you know, doing sort of just like nice and easy, relaxed,” he said during an interview with Real America’s Voice. “I’m sort of negotiating. You see, they’re very devious negotiators because they’ll agree to something, then they’ll go out and tell the press that they never agreed to it. They’re very dishonest people.”
