Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) announced that he has officially filed articles of impeachment against U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg after the judge halted the Trump administration’s deportation flights of Venezuelan gang members.
President Trump has also called for the judge’s impeachment, calling Boasberg a “troublemaker and agitator.”
“This Radical Left Lunatic of a Judge, a troublemaker and agitator who was sadly appointed by Barack Hussein Obama, was not elected President – He didn’t WIN the popular VOTE (by a lot!), he didn’t WIN ALL SEVEN SWING STATES, he didn’t WIN 2,750 to 525 Counties, HE DIDN’T WIN ANYTHING!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“I WON FOR MANY REASONS, IN AN OVERWHELMING MANDATE, BUT FIGHTING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION MAY HAVE BEEN THE NUMBER ONE REASON FOR THIS HISTORIC VICTORY. I’m just doing what the VOTERS wanted me to do. This judge, like many of the Crooked Judges’ I am forced to appear before, should be IMPEACHED!!! WE DON’T WANT VICIOUS, VIOLENT, AND DEMENTED CRIMINALS, MANY OF THEM DERANGED MURDERERS, IN OUR COUNTRY. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
Gill told The Daily Wire that he “will not stand by as radical activist Judge James Boasberg tramples on the Constitution out of political spite for the President.”
Reps. Andy Ogles (R-TN) and Derrick Van Orden (R-WI) have also introduced resolutions to impeach judges who are working in opposition to the Trump agenda.
Where Ogles filed articles of impeachment against U.S. District Judge Amir Ali after the judge temporarily blocked the Trump administration’s foreign aid suspension, Orden introduced a resolution to impeach U.S. District Court Judge Paul Engelmayer for temporarily blocking the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from accessing Treasury Department information.
