Vance CPAC Speech Urges Young Men to Reject ‘Broken Culture’

At the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on February 20, 2025, Vice President JD Vance delivered a compelling address to young men, urging them to resist societal pressures that undermine traditional masculinity. He emphasized the importance of embracing one’s identity against a culture he described as intent on erasing gender distinctions.

Vance criticized contemporary American culture for attempting to diminish masculinity, stating it seeks to “turn everybody into… androgynous idiots who think the same, talk the same, and act the same.” He reaffirmed the administration’s belief in the purposeful creation of male and female identities, asserting, “We actually think God made male and female for a purpose.” Vance assured the audience that current public policies aim to support individuals in thriving as men and women.

This message aligns with the Trump administration’s ongoing efforts to counteract what it perceives as cultural and ideological extremism. On January 20, 2025, President Trump signed an executive order titled “Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism And Restoring Biological Truth To The Federal Government.” The order emphasizes the recognition of two immutable sexes, male and female, and directs the Executive Branch to enforce sex-protective laws accordingly. It also criticizes leftist initiatives aimed at eradicating the biological reality of sex, suggesting such efforts undermine women’s dignity, safety, and well-being.

Vance’s remarks at CPAC resonate with his previous statements advocating for traditional family structures and roles. In a March for Life rally held in Washington, D.C., he highlighted the critical role of family in American culture and prosperity. Vance criticized a culture of radical individualism that, in his view, undermines the joys and responsibilities of family life. He emphasized the need for more children and stronger family connections, advocating for policies that support parenthood and family well-being.

However, Vance’s perspectives have not been without controversy. In a September 2021 podcast, he made remarks criticizing professional women who prioritize careers over raising children, suggesting this leads to personal dissatisfaction. He also expressed skepticism about the contributions and assimilation of certain immigrant groups, comments that have been condemned as “dangerous and un-American.”

Despite the debates surrounding his views, Vance continues to advocate for policies and cultural shifts that, in his belief, reinforce traditional values and support the well-being of American families.
