Taiwan White Wolf Fentanyl Investigation

Taiwan’s top prosecutor has ordered an investigation into Zhang An Le, known as “White Wolf,” over allegations that he assisted Mexican drug cartels in producing fentanyl. The announcement specifically cited revelations from investigative journalist Peter Schweizer’s 2024 book, Blood Money, which details connections between Chinese criminal organizations, the Communist Party, and American politicians, including the Biden family.

Schweizer’s book exposes Zhang An Le’s long-standing partnership with Chinese tycoon Ye Jianming, chairman of CEFC China Energy Company, who previously funneled $5 million to the Biden family. Ye, referred to as “the Super Chairman” in Hunter Biden’s recovered WhatsApp messages, was the subject of communications in which Hunter Biden pressured for financial commitments while claiming he was “sitting here with my father.”

Taiwan’s Supreme Prosecutor’s Office accused Zhang, president of the China Unification Promotion Party and head of the Bamboo Union criminal gang, of aiding Mexico’s Sonora Cartel in fentanyl production and distribution. The book reveals that Zhang’s gang has a “partnership” with the Sinaloa Cartel and helped turn it into the “King of Fentanyl,” according to Mexican investigations.

Schweizer’s research also highlights that Zhang was mysteriously left off a 2021 Biden executive order sanctioning international drug traffickers, despite his extensive ties to organized crime. GAI researcher Price Sukhia noted that prior to Biden’s order, Zhang’s business partner, Ye Jianming, had provided the Biden family with over $5 million in loans, cash transfers, and gifts—including an $80,000 diamond given to Hunter Biden.

An excerpt from Blood Money details the deep connections between Chinese criminal syndicates and the Biden family. Hunter Biden also received $1 million from Patrick Ho, an executive under Ye Jianming, who was convicted of bribery charges in the U.S. Ho’s activities allegedly ran parallel to those of Ng Lap Seng, a Chinese triad member also convicted of bribery. The Shui Fong triad, to which Ng was connected, has long-standing ties to the international drug trade.

With Taiwan’s investigation now underway, the extent of Chinese organized crime’s influence in the fentanyl trade—and its political implications—may soon come further into focus.
