President-elect Donald Trump announced three special envoys to promote business in Hollywood.
“It is my honor to announce Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone, to be Special Ambassadors to a great but very troubled place, Hollywood, California,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “They will serve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries, BACK—BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE!”
“These three very talented people will be my eyes and ears, and I will get done what they suggest. It will again be, like The United States of America itself, The Golden Age of Hollywood!”
In November, Stallone called Trump the “second George Washington” during an event at Mar-a-Lago. “I’ll just say this, and I mean it, when George Washington defended his country, he had no idea that he was going to change the world because without him, you can imagine what the world would look like,” he said. “Guess what, we got the second George Washington. Congratulations!”
Speaking at the Champions For America Celebration Gala by conservative nonprofit America’s Future, Gibson said, “We’ve endured four years of thinly veiled Marxism. And now I think what we have is a four-year grace period, but we have to work harder.”
“I hope in the next four years we can get back some of that precious commodity that this country has –that commodity called freedom,” he said. “We’ll see how much this new administration can claw back from the Philistines.”
In 2019, Voight called Trump the “greatest president since Abraham Lincoln.”
