The Animal Rescue Corps (ARC), a national nonprofit focused on animal welfare, announced on Tuesday the rescue of 23 dogs, including young puppies, from deplorable conditions in a trailer in Cumberland County, Tennessee.
According to ARC, the dogs—small mixed-breed animals, including puppies as young as five weeks old—were found living in severe neglect. The animals were running loose on urine-soaked and feces-covered floors amid broken furniture and makeshift fencing. Many were suffering from internal and external parasites due to unsanitary and overcrowded conditions, which ARC attributes to negligent breeding practices.
This marks the third time in just eight days that ARC has responded to similar crises in Tennessee, underscoring the urgent need for resources and education in animal welfare. The rescued dogs are now receiving necessary care and treatment at the ARC Rescue Center in Gallatin. Once rehabilitated, they will be transferred to shelters for adoption into loving homes.
Those interested in adopting or supporting ARC’s mission can follow updates on their Facebook page, where adoption details will be shared. This rescue effort highlights the critical role of organizations like ARC in protecting vulnerable animals and raising awareness about responsible pet ownership.
