Reports of mysterious drones flying in the night sky are raising questions across the East Coast and beyond, with sightings reported in New Jersey, other East Coast states, and as far away as Arizona. Officials and residents alike are puzzled, with theories ranging from government operations to private experiments.
New Jersey officials held a press conference on Saturday, Dec. 14, stating the drones are not typical consumer models. Despite their size—some described as large as cars—their purpose and origin remain unclear. Officials have called on the federal government to take action to identify and address the situation.
Residents in Arizona have also reported unusual drone-like phenomena in their skies. At a recent “sky party” hosted by the Chandler Nature Center, attendees shared a mix of curiosity and concern. Meanwhile, Buckeye residents have turned to neighborhood apps to voice their concerns about aerial sightings.
One local man says he believes it’s a security measure by the American government.
“These drones aren’t being flown by an average guy like myself, it’s for the safety of America,” said Arthur Guillory who was also at the Chandler Nature Center.
Online forums and local communities are abuzz with theories, ranging from military exercises and surveillance to experimental technology or even extraterrestrial activity. While some believe there could be a straightforward explanation, the lack of official clarification has fueled speculation.
Authorities continue to investigate, but for now, the mystery of the nighttime drones remains unresolved.
Last week, President-elect Donald Trump called for unidentified drones seen across several states to be shot down.
“Mystery Drone sightings all over the Country,” he wrote on Truth Social. “Can this really be happening without our government’s knowledge. I don (sic) think so! Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, shot (sic) them down!!! DJT”
