A tragic incident has left a 14-year-old boy fighting for his life after a shooting at Christmas Village in Dilworth Plaza, according to police reports.
Authorities say the violence broke out around 4:30 p.m. near the Rothman Ice Rink in Dilworth Park, just outside City Hall. Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore stated that the shooting stemmed from a fight involving two 14-year-old boys.
One of the teens sustained a critical injury after being shot in the face and was rushed to the hospital. The second boy, who was struck in the thigh, is expected to recover.
Law enforcement apprehended a suspect believed to be “around the same age” as the victims a few blocks from the scene.
