Trump Names Karoline Leavitt White House Press Secretary

President-elect Donald Trump has named Karoline Leavitt as the incoming White House press secretary, the Trump team announced Friday.

Leavitt, who served as the national press secretary for Trump’s 2024 campaign, is a familiar face in Trump’s inner circle, having worked in his administration during his first term.

“Karoline Leavitt did a phenomenal job as the National Press Secretary on my Historic Campaign, and I am pleased to announce she will serve as White House Press Secretary,” Trump said in a statement.

Leavitt’s experience includes her tenure as a communications staffer in the Trump White House and a previous role as the spokeswoman for Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), a key Trump ally.

Trump said that Leavitt “is smart, tough, and has proven to be a highly effective communicator.”

At just 26 years old during her 2022 congressional run, Leavitt gained national attention as one of the youngest Republican candidates to seek federal office.

“I have the utmost confidence she will excel at the podium, and help deliver our message to the American People as we, Make America Great Again,” Trump continued.
