President-elect Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law and RNC Co-Chair, Lara Trump, has been floated as a possible replacement for Senator Marco Rubio.
The development comes as Rubio has been tapped by Trump to be Secretary of State.
“She understands the America First agenda. For me, I think she would be a tremendous pick, a voice for hard-working families and another mom of school-aged kids that understands what we’re up against, and that’s to fight to protect the American dream,” Alabama Senator Katie Britt told Axios.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna also expressed support for Trump, saying she “will keep the seat and avoid a messy primary for FLORIDA. Well spoken. Kicked butt on election integrity. Etc.”
Lara Trump said on Fox News’ “Hannity” that if she is able, she would “love to serve the people of Florida. This is my home state now and has been for three years. This is where Eric and I live and truly to have that opportunity, I think would be incredible, and no one knows better than I do the America first agenda or the goals of Donald Trump and the coming four years. So, if I am asked, I would love to consider it, but I have yet to have a conversation with Governor DeSantis, so we will have to see.”
