A transgender-identifying Democratic voter has been arrested for threatening to shoot former President Donald Trump.
Paul J. Gavenonis, a 74-year-old man using female pronouns, reportedly made comments against Trump’s life while attempting to purchase a parking pass at Penn State University.
“I hate Donald Trump. I’d like to shoot that guy,” the Democrat reportedly said. Gavenonis later described climbing to the top of a building because “you can’t take a gun in, or the students will see it.”
An employee alerted law enforcement to Gavenonis’ comments.
Upon being questioned by authorities, Gaveonis said he could “probably” kill Trump. “Frankly, I hope somebody would get him,” the trans-identifying individual said.
Gavenonis was charged with making terroristic threats and disorderly conduct and is being held at the Centre County Prison without bail. The registered Democrat’s preliminary hearing was Wednesday morning at the Centre County Court.
