A University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) employee was caught on video tearing down posters advertising a speech by conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, just hours before Shapiro was set to speak at the campus.
The video, posted by Young America’s Foundation (YAF), which is hosting the event, shows the university employee removing the flyers. When questioned, the employee claimed he was instructed by his supervisor to take down the posters but declined to provide the name of his boss, saying, “I’m doing my job, what they told me to do, so you have a good day.”
Shapiro, a UCLA alumnus and the editor emeritus of The Daily Wire, is scheduled to speak at the event hosted by YAF, a conservative student organization known for bringing prominent right-leaning speakers to college campuses.
The incident has sparked debate over free speech on campus, with critics arguing that it reflects ongoing bias against conservative voices in academic institutions.
