Harris Says She ‘Needed to Talk to God’ Before Launching Presidential Campaign

During an appearance on ABC’s “The View,” Vice President Kamala Harris said she “needed to talk to God” before launching her presidential campaign.

Host Whoopi Goldberg introduced Harris as the “next president of the United States!”

“You’ve barely taken a breath since, you know, 79 days ago when President Biden called your house and said he was stepping down and passing you the torch,” Goldberg said later in the interview.

Harris explained that after discussing Biden’s plan to step down, she called her pastor.

“The rest of the day … was surreal, I’ll tell you, honestly, one of the first people I called was my pastor,” she said. “I mean, I needed to talk to God, you know, and to pray. It was — I understood in real time what was happening and obviously then it really set in in the hours and days to come. That was quite a day.”

At another point in the interview, host Sunny Hostin asked Harris if she would have “done something differently than President Biden” over the last four years.

“There is not a thing that comes to mind,” Harris said.
