Israel Activates Iron Dome as Hezbollah Launches Drones, Rockets From Southern Lebanon

On Sunday morning, Israel successfully intercepted a large barrage of rockets and drones launched by Hezbollah from southern Lebanon.

The attack followed a series of preemptive airstrikes by Israel targeting Hezbollah positions that were reportedly preparing to fire on Israeli territory.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that over 150 projectiles were launched by Hezbollah, triggering alerts in several northern Israeli communities, including Shlomy, Arab al-Aramshe, Betzet, Avdon, Neveh Ziv, and others.

The IDF emphasized the difference in tactics, stating, “We target terrorist infrastructure, they target civilians.”

Hezbollah, an Iran-backed Islamic terrorist organization, claimed the attack was in retaliation for Israel’s recent killing of Fuad Shukr, described as the group’s “most senior military commander and the head of its Strategic Unit.”

Shukr was also known as the right-hand man to Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah. The situation marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, further heightening tensions in the region.
