House Speaker Mike Johnson, (R-LA), met with former President Donald Trump on Monday at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
“It was great to meet with President Trump today at Mar-a-Lago,” Johnson posted on X. “Our Party is united and working together. I am confident we will send President Trump back to the White House, win back the Senate, and grow our House Republican majority!”
In November 2023, Trump praised Johnson after Republicans began releasing full security footage from January 6.
“Today, we will begin immediately posting video on a public website and move as quickly as possible to add to the website nearly all of the footage, more than 40,000 hours,” Johnson said in a statement at the time.
“Congratulations to Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson for having the Courage and Fortitude to release all of the J6 Tapes, which will explicitly reveal what really happened on January 6th!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
