British-Montengrin Soccer Player Dies Suddenly at Age 26

A British-Montengrin soccer player has died suddenly at the age of only 26.

Matija Sarkic, a goalkeeper who played for Millwall and the Montenegro national team, reportedly collapsed and died in his apartment in Budva.

“Sarkic, The Lions’ number one goalkeeper, made 33 appearances for the club since joining from Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 2023,” Millwall FC said in a statement confirming the news.

“Everyone at the club sends their love and condolences to Matija’s family and friends at this immensely sad time,” it continued. “The club will make no further comment at this time and asks that the privacy of Matija’s family is respected.”

Earlier this month, Larry Allen, hall of fame offensive linemen in the NFL died suddenly at the age of 52.

According to the Dallas Cowboys organization, Allen passed away while on vacation with his family in Mexico.

“Larry, known for his great athleticism and incredible strength, was one of the most respected, accomplished offensive linemen to ever play in the NFL,” the Cowboys said Monday. “His versatility and dependability were also signature parts of his career. Through that, he continued to serve as inspiration for many other players, defining what it meant to be a great teammate, competitor and winner.”
