An estimated 120,000 people gathered for a 24-hour rally in Israel to recognize the hostages taken by Hamas.
The event marks the 100th day since the hostages were kidnapped.
Some of the speakers at the event included family members of hostages, French President Emmanuel Macron, US Ambassador to Israel Jack Lew, and former Israel Supreme Court President Dorit Beinisch, according to the Times of Israel.
There are about 132 hostages still being held in Gaza.
Times Square saw a similar event to call for the release of the hostages.
“We came to the heart of New York, one of the most visited places in the world, to call on the entire international community to stop and do everything to free the hostages. We must not convey a message that kidnapping and holding innocent people hostage is an acceptable thing in the world,” said Gili Roman, a brother of a released hostage.
“One hundred days ago, the Hamas monsters invaded the State of Israel and massacred us. They raped and burned our citizens and took them hostage. We have returned half of them. We are not giving up on anyone,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said. “We are doing everything to bring them all back home. I emphasize: All of them, without exception. These efforts are continuing at all times, even at this moment. We will complete them at the same time as the completion of the other goals of the war.”
