House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) invited President Joe Biden to address a Joint Session of Congress in the delivery of the State of the Union.
The letter, dated January 6, read, “In this moment of great challenge for our country, it is my solemn duty to extend this invitation for you to address a Joint Session of Congress on Thursday, March 7, 2024, so that you may fulfill your obligation under the U.S. Constitution to report on the state of our union.”
“Looking forward to it, Mr. Speaker,” Biden’s official X account responded.
On January 5, Biden gave a speech targeting “MAGA Republicans.”
“All-out war is what Trump wants, that’s why he doesn’t understand the most fundamental truth about this country. Unlike other nations on earth, America is not built on ethnicity, religion, geography, we’re the only nation in the history of the world built on an idea.”
Proclaiming the significance of the American “idea,” Biden said that he “will not let Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans force us to walk away now.”
Biden added that Trump uses the “same exact language used in Nazi Germany.”

Meanwhile, Donald Trump told a crowd in Iowa that Biden is a “threat, because he’s incompetent.”
“He’s a threat to democracy,” Trump emphasized.
