Michigan’s attorney general Dana Nessel is demanding Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib to “retract” the use of a “cruel and hateful” statement she used to sympathize with Palestinians in Gaza.
According to the AG, the statement holds a deeper, genocidal background.
“From the river to the sea” is allegedly a chant used by sympathizers of the terrorist group Hamas.
Tlaib reportedly used the phrase last week in a post on X, in a plea to call for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war.
“@RashidaTlaib, I have supported and defended you countless times, even when you have said the indefensible, because I believed you to be a good person whose heart was in the right place,” Nessel said.
“But this is so hurtful to so many. Please retract this cruel and hateful remark.”
From Breitbart:
Nessel’s comments came after Tlaib began defending the genocidal chant after receiving backlash for including it in her Pro-Palestine video. “From the river to the sea is an aspirational call for freedom, human rights, and peaceful coexistence, not death, destruction, or hate,” the “Squad” member wrote. “My work and advocacy is always centered in justice and dignity for all people no matter faith or ethnicity.”
