Transgender Male Wins Female Cross Country Championship

A transgender male won a high school girls’ cross-country championship.

Soren Stark-Chessa, who identifies as a female, won by almost a minute and a half.

The 15-year-old completed the 3.1-mile course in 19 minutes and 17 seconds.

Stark-Chessa took the Class C South girls’ title at Twin Brook Recreation Area in Maine.

“I think I came out a little strong but just kept pushing through it and I’m happy with it,” the student said.

Haley Williams, a female competitor, told reporters that the race was “unfair.”

“I feel like when you put people born male in girls’ races, it’s just genetically unfair,” Williams explained to the Portland Press Herald.

Last year, Stark-Chessa competed in the boys’ cross-country race and finished in 14th place.

American Faith previously reported that Stark-Chessa came in 5th place in a girls’ race last month.

In a video of the competition, an individual can be heard shouting, “Way to cheat bro!”
