A poll from Quinnipiac University found that the majority of Americans support the construction of a wall along the southern border.
According to the poll, 52% of Americans support a border wall.
Forty-four percent of poll respondents are against building a border wall.
Among Republicans, 91% support a border wall with Mexico.
Seventy-eight percent of Democrats oppose a southern border wall.
Independent voters are divided on the matter, with 51% favoring a border wall and 46% against it.
Fifty-five percent of poll respondents also said that the amount of migrants seeking sanctuary in the United States is a crisis.
Tim Malloy, Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst, explained, “Build the Wall, the rallying cry that was vilified and shot down during the Trump administration makes a comeback, buoyed by Republican voters and no doubt resuscitated by an unresolved border crisis.”
