In a recent leak, CNN broadcast a recording featuring former President Donald Trump, in which he discussed “secret information” pertaining to General Mark Milley’s purported willingness to initiate a conflict with Iran.

The audio reveals President Trump, situated at his Mar a Lago estate under Secret Service protection, playfully conversing about these confidential documents with his staff.

Notably, a quip about Hillary Clinton’s alleged propensity to distribute such sensitive materials, with a nod to Anthony Weiner, incited laughter among the attendees.

CNN omitted the light-hearted, conversational ambiance throughout the recording.

The original source of this leak is said to be most likely the U.S. government, specifically the Department of Justice (DOJ) or Jack Smith, a prosecutor with links to the Obama administration.

On the leaked recording, the former President can be discerned saying that as president, “I could have declassified it. Now I can’t, you know, but this is still a secret.”

The context of this statement, however, remains uncertain, making it unclear whether Trump was alluding to the physical documents or information referenced within, National Pulse points out.

Reacting to the leaked audio, Trump issued a statement on Tuesday morning, dubbing the leak as “an exoneration.”

“The Deranged Special Prosecutor, Jack Smith, working in conjunction with the DOJ & FBI, illegally leaked and ‘spun’ a tape and transcript of me which is actually an exoneration, rather than what they would have you believe. This continuing Witch Hunt is another ELECTION INTERFERENCE Scam. They are cheaters and thugs!”
