The Texas Department of State Health Services Removed their recommendation that children receive all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommended vaccines following the agency’s recombination that COVID-19 vaccines be added to children’s vaccination schedule.

The entity that determines the vaccination schedule for children in Texas was quick to adjust its website on Oct. 20, hours after advisers to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a recommendation to add the COVID-19 vaccine to the children’s immunization schedule. After a state representative expressed his concern, the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) removed a line on its website that stated: “Children need all CDC-recommended vaccines” to attend school. ... While Texas Gov. Greg Abbott hasn’t issued a statement regarding the new CDC recommendation for children, his spokesperson, Renae Eze, told The Epoch Times that “Texas has a longstanding law that protects parents’ rights to decide what vaccinations their children will get. “To protect Texans’ right to choose for themselves and their children, Governor Abbott issued an executive order last year ensuring exceptions.”
